Early Decatur Patents

From the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, Decatur was a vibrant and fast growing town fueled by the arrival of the railroads. Agriculture and industrial manufacturing were rapidly expanding and
undergoing revolutionary changes. This environment provided the backdrop for Decatur to become a mecca for many inventors who filed hundreds of patents. The presentation will cover some of the more unique patents and include a display of Decatur-patented items.
